There are not too many luxury SUVs that can seat seven that compare with the Cadillac Escalade. The vehicle has been a real status symbol over the last few years and today the 2012 edition of the Escalade will be coming. This 7 seater SUV will feature a number of points that make it more valuable.
What Engines are Available?
The engines that can work in the 2012 Escalade come in many forms. The basic version of the engine is a 6.2L 403 hp V8 engine. This works with Active Fuel Management, a technology that reads how the vehicle is working and can reduce the usage of the vehicle to a four-cylinder level when the full eight cylinder functions are not required. This is used to help keep fuel usage at a minimum when possible.
The key about the engine is that it will move the car quickly and effectively. The Escalade can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in about six seconds on average.
An intriguing part of this engine is that it can handle E85 fuel. This is an 85% ethanol blend of fuel that is made from naturally renewable materials. This works to help create lower emissions.
Some hybrid models are being introduced. A hybrid edition of the Escalade will feature a gas and electric combination to its engine to get the Escalade to go 23 miles per gallon on the highway. This is an appealing point but it will end up causing the vehicle to be more expensive due to the advanced technology. More on pricing can be found later on here.
Seat Features
The features around the seats are ones that make all of the people in the car more comfortable. These features include a variety of things like a three zone climate control system in the front and front seats that can be adjusted in fourteen different ways. The second and third rows can also take advantage of a few beneficial functions. These include things like leather seating in the second row or special LCD screens on different seats in the back rows. The higher-end options for the back rows are more likely to be found in the higher level trims.
A Comfortable Ride
All people in this 7 seater SUV will need to fit a comfortable ride. This is why this Cadillac SUV has a unique suspension system called Magnetic Ride Control. This works with a damping system that monitors movements and creates electronic shocks that are based off of what a computer reads.
The iron particles that work in the suspension will align themselves to help create a system that monitors damping resistance to ensure that the vehicle is working as well as possible. The purpose of these features in the vehicle is to create a ride that is smooth and easy to handle without worrying about any damages or irritation coming from the ride.
Inside Features of Cadillac Escalade 2012
The inside of the Cadillac SUV features many points. The Escalade will include a series of airbags that work around the vehicle. Front and side impact airbags are used along with sensors to review if there are passengers in an area to see if certain airbags must be deployed at certain times. This is used to keep everyone comfortable and to keep the damages in the SUV from airbags at a minimum.
A Bose sound system is also included. This system works with seven speakers to help create realistic sound quality in any situation. This works well with the six disc CD player that the car comes with.
A navigation system and interface is also used in the Escalade. This works with dozens of different driver messages and control functions. It can work to handle the lighting, lock doors, change all of the mirrors around the vehicle and recall the preferred seat position that a person is using. These options can work to help improve the way how the vehicle is being handled so it will be easier for anyone to do more with the vehicle.
The Rear Park Assist feature is an interesting point to see. This is used to help assist the driver when going in reverse for parking or even for parallel parking situations. The driver can be kept at speeds of five miles per hour or less and can be alerted when the vehicle gets close to certain items in an area.
Twelve Choices
One of the biggest points about the 2012 Escalade is that it will come in twelve different variants. These twelve options work with many different driving needs in mind. These vary based primarily on the drive of the vehicle and the engine that it uses. Two and four wheel drive options are available. There are also luxury and hybrid options to consider.
The Luxury versions of the Escalade will feature a Magnetic Ride Control suspension function and twenty-two inch wheels. These wheels are much larger than the standard eighteen inch wheels that the basic model already comes with. It also works with a second row of seats that can be folded down as needed to create a flat space for storing items.
The Premium choices feature the many things that the Luxury choices have but with more options. These include retractable steps leading to the vehicle and an entertainment system for the back seats.
There’s even a platinum edition of the Escalade. This features a walnut wood trim, three LCD screens in the second and third rows and full leather in the first and second rows.
The values of these vehicles will vary. The two wheel drive variant is the cheapest at around $63,000. The AWD Hybrid Platinum version is $85,000.
Naturally, the all wheel drive function is going to cost more for anyone to handle. This is because the all wheel drive works to fix the torque on a consistent basis to make the vehicle stable. It also gets torque to move between the front and rear parts of the car. It even monitors how brakes can be applied to different wheels in different driving conditions. This is a high-tech function that will certainly raise the price of this SUV that seats seven.
