Ford Taurus X is among 7 seater Cars

Welcome back, After a while of reading and a little research, I thought of posting about a wonderful car from the first car making company in the world. Yeah. Ford. Ford makes 7 seater cars too. Ford Taurus X is a Crossover SUV, and was first developed in USA by Ford Motors. Taurus X has been a quite famous car and can seat 6 to 7 passengers in a comfortable fashion. Ford Taurus was first brought to market in the year 2005 and was introduced as the Ford Freestyle. It was only during 2008 was it renamed as Taurus X. Ford Taurus was targeted towards replacing the old Taurus Station wagon among the 7 seater cars category. Sadly, in 2009 February, the production of Taurus X was stopped as Ford decided to bring in the Flex for the year 2011 as the next 7 seater car. But even now you can find the Taurus X for sale in the United States, South Korea and Canada.

Ford Taurus X was a 7 seater car built on the concept of Ford D3. This particular platform was shared with Volvos, XC90, Mercury Montego and Ford Five Hundred. But despite this, the Taurus X has looks which are significantly different than the fore mentioned 7 seater cars. The Freestyle from Ford is a unique style of seat arrangement which emphasizes on many factors. Freestyle has seats for 7 people which is split up in three rows, and is very well known as command seating style. This particular seating arrangement for 7 seater car gives the car a higher H point. This also provides the driver higher road visibility and also eases the entry and exit for the passengers. The engine used for this car is a 3 liter Duratec V6 which is capable enough to pump in 203hp at a  hopping 5750 rpm. The Ford Taurus uses Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).

Ford explorers were projected to be sold higher than the other 7 seater cars from Ford, but to their surprise, the Ford Taurus and other Freestyle cars comprised a 55% of total sales volume against the expected 40% of the sales. People wanted an alternative for the explorers, and with the introduction of better freestyle 7 seater cars, they found it as a better choice to purchase cars like Ford Taurus X.

Talking about the design of the Taurus X, it resembles its contemporary car Edge from Ford. These cars create a family of crossover in themselves. Taurus also efficiently utilizes Ford’s Corporate Grille, which comprises of chrome bars with center mounted blue oval which are three in number. Taurus also has Power lift gate and also power folded seats.

All in all, Taurus X from Ford is a decent 7 seater car, if you are looking for one which can be bought for a bargain price. For the record, its not in production anymore, and the same might reflect on its service. But hey! Great car is always great.
